Abstract

|
Central Venous Pressure monitoring was investigated in 43 serious surgical patients who treated at Capital Army Hospital during last two years.
1) Clinical investigation was carried out on 31 cases of hypovolemic shock, 4 and cases of septic shock.
2) Monitoring of central venous pressure in surgical cases, especially in shock, was helpful to realize and cases of septic shock
and treat the underlying pathology of circulation.
3) In most cases, bed side differentiation of cardiogenic circulatory failure from hypovolemic shock was possible by measurement of Central Venous Fressure.
4) Central Venous Pressure monitorings in septic shock were variable, however, the reading of Cental Venous pressure change provided one of practical evaluation for the condition.
